are the more specific binding that we specialise in, as well as offering the more
traditional forms of binding such as Saddle Stitching and Perfect Binding.
Wiro Binding
Standard
Most common method where front and back covers are bound as separate pieces with text.
Easel
Has a freestanding triangular cover to stand the document upright.
Full Canadian
A square back where the wiro is exposed only on the front and back cover, not on the spine.
Half Canadian
The wire is partially hidden again and is visible on the back cover only.
Cased In
Standard wiro binding with a hard front and back cover, with spine.
Reverse Binding
Allows for the cover to be extended in order to view a large image area.
Calendars
Wire binding for calendars with a thumb cut and calendar hanger or for use
as desk calendars.
Perfect Binding
Adhesive form of binding where folded sections are glued together and
bound with a cover to form a solid spine. Can also be used in digital work,
binding loose sheets rather than folded sections
Case Binding
A form of binding using glue to hold sections together into a case made of board covered with
paper, fabric, plastic or leather to form a hardbound book. Case bound books are available in
both round and square back formats.
Printed sheets are folded into sections then collated and/or sewn by machine, the edges are then
trimmed to form a book block. Endpapers are then attached to the first and last sections of the
book block. These are also called cloth edition, hard bind or hard cover.
Saddle Stitching
The technical name for effectively stapling a brochure together.
Sections are collated inside each other and stitched using wire, giving the same effect.
As staples but giving a flatter appearance.
Loop Stitching
The same process as saddle stitching except the wire is formed to create a loop
on the spine of the brochure where it is stitched. This allows you to insert a
brochure into a ring binder and be able to open the brochure without removing
it from the binder.
