Almost anything you like! 3D printing can create a range of objects in all kind of materials. You can print nearly any 3D object, including business prototypes, architecture designs, and even 3D printed action figures. All you need is a 3D design, formatted as a .STL file. Prices start from as little as £5 utilising sites such as www.cgtrader.com or www.turbosquid.com which offer compatible ready to print artwork.

A 3D printer can only print from a specific file types.  These files contain a geometrical outline of an object without information on colour or texture.

Below you can find an introduction to our most popular materials. Depending on the 3D Print you require, different finishes, strengths and features of different materials will suit your needs. If you need something printed in a different material, or have questions regarding which one is best for you, please email us at: sales@ladigitalprint.co.uk

ABS is a plastic material that’s great for mechanical strength and early stage rough prototypes. ABS is a cost-effective material for initial prototyping applications, and with post-processing options it can offer better surface finish than PLA.

PLA is the most common and lowest cost 3D printing material with a large colour selection. It is unsuitable for high temperature applications. PLA is more brittle than ABS with a lower impact strength and elongation before break.

Nylon objects are printed from a fine polyamide powder, more commonly known as plastic. The material is both solid and flexible. Nylon is great for both experienced professionals and beginner designers because of its high precision and low cost.

UV-cured resin prints display fine details, sharp edges and a smooth finish. The colour availability is limited, but it is easily paintable and can also be printed as translucent or transparent.

Tough Resin (SLA)

Tough resin (SLA) has better stiffness and impact resistance than generic resin, and produces parts with improved mechanical properties. Its great for prototypes and complex designs.

Sandstone is the only material capable of full-colour 3D prints. It is perfect for figurines, life-like models, avatars, and other products that lend themselves to colourful, high-quality printing.
